Dispute resolution in West Africa

Alternative dispute resolution, or dispute resolution outside of state courts, is gaining popularity in West Africa and throughout the world.

Usually, a mediation proceeding is needed by law or by the terms of certain types of agreements before a party may commence court or arbitration proceedings. We represent you in mediation procedures and frequently serve as mediators as well. International business transactions are an exception to the general rule that parties prefer arbitration to litigation in state courts.

We represent you before local courts as well as in local and international arbitration processes conducted in accordance with all main arbitration bodies, as well as in so-called ad hoc actions. Our attorneys conduct sessions in English and French. Some of our partners have long served as arbitrators and have written scholarly publications on dispute resolution.
